Statement of Faith - What We Believe
Our statement of faith serves as a compass to guide our ministry. As a church we believe:
God
God eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are distinct, co-equal and one.
(2 Corinthians 13:14)
Bible
The Bible is God's perfect living Word and final authority. It is relevant today and is God's absolute truth to all people.
(2 Timothy 3:16,17)
Man's Sin
People created in the image of God fell from relationship with God through disobedience.
(Romans 5:12)
Plan of Salvation
Jesus willingly paid the penalty for the sins of all people through His death on the Cross.
(John 3:16; Romans 5:8)
Way to Salvation
Salvation can never be earned. It is God’s free gift of grace offered to all who put their faith in Christ.
(Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6)
New Birth
Each person who receives Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, becomes a new person in Christ Jesus.
(2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20)
Water Baptism
Symbolic of our identification with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection
(Romans 6:4)
Lord's Supper
Received by Christians to remember Jesus’ death for our sins, and in celebration of His new covenant.
(1 Corinthians 11:24,25)
Spiritual Gifts
Gifts are for today. They strengthen and build up the church when used according to biblical guidelines.
(1 Corinthians 12:4,11; 1 Peter 4:10)
Second Coming of Christ
Jesus will be present to judge the world, separate believers from unbelievers, and permanently reign with His glorified people in His new creation.
(Acts 1:11; 24:15; 2 Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 20:15)
Heaven
A real and perfect place where all Christians will live forever with God.
(John 14:2-3; Revelation 21:1-4)
Hell
A real place of constant and unrelenting torment. Hell is where Satan, fallen angels, and all who reject Jesus Christ will spend eternity.
(Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:10,15)
Evangelism
God has called all Christians to evangelism and discipleship.
(Matthew 28:19-20; James 5:20)
The Church
A community of believers who gather to worship Jesus, study God’s word, and be equipped to serve in His power. Jesus is the head of the church.
(Acts 2:42-47; Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 10:25)
