Statement of Faith - What We Believe
Our statement of faith serves as a compass to guide our ministry. As a church we believe:
Bible
The Bible is God's perfect living Word and final authority. It is relevant today and is God's absolute truth to all people.
(2 Timothy 3:16,17)
God
God eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are distinct, co-equal and one.
(2 Corinthians 13:14)
Man's Sin
People created in the image of God fell from relationship with God through disobedience.
(Romans 5:12)
Plan of Salvation
Jesus willingly paid the penalty for the sins of all people through His death on the Cross.
(John 3:16; Romans 5:8)
Way to Salvation
Offered to all people and freely given to those who put their faith in Jesus as God's gift of grace for our disobedience. Salvation can never be earned.
(Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6)
New Birth
Each person who receives Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, becomes a new person in Christ Jesus.
(2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20)
Water Baptism
Water baptism is symbolic of our death, burial, and resurrection with Jesus' redemptive work on the Cross.
(Matthew 28:19)
Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is celebrated by Christians to remember Jesus' death for our sins and the beginning of His new promise.
(1 Corinthians 11:24,25; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
Spiritual Gifts
Spiritual Gifts are for today. They strengthen and build up the church when used according to biblical guidelines.
(1 Corinthians 12:4,11; 1 Peter 4:10)
Second Coming of Christ
Second coming of Christ is certain. He will be physically present to judge the world, permanently separate believers from unbelievers, and will culminate in a new creation.
(Acts 1:11; 24:15; 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; 2 Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 20:15)
Heaven
Heaven is a real and perfect place where all Christians will live forever with God.
(John 14:2-3; Revelation 21:1-4)
Hell
Hell is a real place of constant and unrelenting torment. Hell is where Satan, fallen angels, and all who reject Jesus Christ will spend eternity.
(Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:10,15)
Evangelism
God has called all Christians to evangelism and discipleship.
(Matthew 28:19,20; James 5:20)
The Church
Jesus is the head of the church. The church is wherever believers gather to grow, give, equip, and connect.
(Acts 2:42-47; Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 10:25)
